    JEHOVAH God and Jesus Christ can not explain what is trinity. . . .If TRINITY is part of God's truth that Jesus witnessed to the world, John 18:37, Jesus and his Apostles would have teach that to the people in their preaching tours. John 17:3; John 8:31. And the New Testament would have been saturated with a mention of TRINITY. HOW COME NONE???

    The definition of Blasphemy, is being disrespectful to God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit, which BTW, includes using His name in vain! Being raised and baptized in a Pentecostal church, I was taught from a child what was right and wrong, so when things got really bad for me later in life, I looked up at the sky and cussed at God & The Holy Spirit, assuming that since He knows everything, including when a feather falls from a Sparrow, He allowed these things to happen to me! I have since begged God to forgive me and tried my best to live a Christian life, but that feeling of being born again (when you feel cleansed and forgiven) has never happened to this day! So, I've taken the Bible at its word and now I truly believe that I've committed the unforgivable sin! Why else would I not feel like a Christian? I've begged God to help me, but I keep looking at women with lust in my heart, I keep cussing when things go bad and now, I truly believe that I'm going to hell, no matter what I do!

    3 women preaching the message of Christ. One is deep in the jungle mission field surrounded by natives as she tells them about Jesus--- One is standing on a street corner handing out tracts as men and women walk by. The last one is delivering a message put on her heart in a church on Sunday morning. Two of them will be lauded, praised and called courageous and truly following God. One will be called names, told she is rebellious and disobedient, going against God. Same message, both genders are listening to her message ---all 3 have a call on their life…the only difference is location. What is ironic is that of the 12 men, it was the women who were first to see the empty tomb and risen Christ. AND THEY TOLD THE MEN!

    Jesus could not be in two places at the same time while being incarnate. But he was still God wrapped in human flesh. JEsus had to lay aside his glory to step down from his throne and condescend and become one of us. I don't know that this help explains or answers the question about not knowing but it does show that he purposely put aside some aspects of his divinity in order to take on the mission of mankind's redemption.

I ended up marrying a preacher 🫣🫣😂 and in the future I feel like he’ll pastor, so then I’ll be a pastors wife 🤦🏽‍♀️ I can’t get away from it 😂 Lord help! Being in this position has had its ups and downs and pressure beyond belief but at the end of the day, if God wants me to be in this position then that’s what matters. Pleasing him is more important.

    Is anti-pride biblical? Yeah, pride is a sin, and if people repented of their pride, they wouldn't spin the Bible and heaven and earth to justify looking at other people, created in the image of God, as inferior or evil..With the fear of God, they wouldn't listen to vile, corrupt, satanic doctrines like "serpent seed" or "nephalim" theory to tell them some people aren't quite human. They would recognize that that stuff came from Satan, and they would reject it, if God was so real to them they cared what His word said.

    False! In Ecclesiastes 9:5 The Bible says the dead know nothing. John 3:13 Jesus himself says No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. ‭Scripture says in Acts 2:34 NIV‬ [34] For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said, “ ‘The Lord said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand". Not even KING DAVID is in heaven. When you die you go to the grave and you go to sleep. The Bible several times compares death to being asleep. We all await the judgment of christ. This is why the scripture say that the dead in Christ will rise first.

Also perhaps a brief few sentences on the underlying philosophical issue at stake here on the nature of how we understand reality. Any type of virtual space challenges us to ponder whether or not this space is fragmenting how we understand what reality is.

    People who don't like scripture related to different gender roles in the church seem to think only random chance made each individual a man or a woman. It's as though they believe there's an inherent unfairness because God's sovereignty states women should not teach in the general assembly of the church, but God's sovereignty had nothing to do with who was made a man and who was made a woman.

    The message that David Brooks shares is one which appears to arrive to us as if it's a no brainer - there's something we should be doing that we aren't doing - which is relating deeply with others - learning from others - and the sooner we learn what to do - and then do it - the better. But actually the issue of how we act wisely in relationships - and become wise - is itself a contested area. The evangelical points to scripture - which says that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom (Prov 9:10). The evangelical believes that any wisdom that resides in people - if it is real wisdom - came to them from God - who is the source of all wisdom - and the best course of action is to bow before God - listen to HIS words - worship him - in order to become wise - instead of to make one's search for wisdom revolve around people. The evangelical believes that the key to rightly loving other people is for us to be able to see others through God's eyes having become intimate with God - even if this means not becoming intimate with the person. The liberal takes David's approach (at least as I understand things from this interview) - which is to believe that wisdom resides in people in varying degrees - and our job is to behave towards others in a way that will cause them to feel heard - to their therefore sharing their insight - and therefore us benefiting from their wisdom. David confirms this is his view in the interview when he suggests that people need to have A faith. I presume he comes to this conclusion because he sees faiths as distillations of human wisdom - and therefore one should not discount any faith any more than one would discount any individual person. He sees faiths more as people's insight gained from humility instead of as people making claims to have heard from God - with the various claims not having any possibility of all being true. To clarify how evangelical faith operates - I didn't become an evangelical Christian because I examined every verse in the bible and concluded that it was divine. How could I possibly know that the bible is divine without being God myself? No - what instead happened was I experienced God using the bible to give me insight about myself which I had not been able to gain without his help. I discovered - RELATIONALLY - that I was a sinner - someone who had fallen short of God's standard - in need of his mercy. The result of this revelation was that from that point on I had no choice but to look FIRST TO GOD for self-understanding - and for understanding about spiritual things. There is a very real sense that if God had spoken to me out of a rock I would have had no choice but to look to God by looking to the rock for ongoing insight. This is the key contested issue - where do we look FIRST for understanding? PS Note that my comments above are confined to where we should turn for SPIRITUAL understanding. When it comes to advice in respect of non-spiritual fields (for example where to gain insight into how to be a better accountant) David's advice may well be helpful (I haven't read his book).

      It sounds like you’re reading David wrong regarding faith. There are many faiths and to jump to the only Jesus is right is to suggest that there is no truth, no ultimate truth in other faiths. Evangelicals get a lot wrong. There’s a very large segment in the USA that believes Donald Trump is a saved individual and he can do no wrong. The religious right made a Faustian bargain and that was wrong. Shalom

    • @philipbenjamin4720
      @philipbenjamin4720 2 дня назад

      @@michaelbrickley2443Hello, I stand corrected - I checked back and found David at 31:17 didn't as I stated talk about making a commitment to A faith - he talked about making 'a faith commitment'. That might mean a commitment to Christianity alone - or it might be a commitment to any faith - his statement didn't reveal which he was meaning. However I don't retract from saying either that David has liberal views - his thinking about how to become wise and best love people is liberal - not evangelical - and I know that for example his views on LGBTQ aren't in alignment with the teaching of scripture. You mention Donald Trump - I know that there are people who have co-opted the term evangelical - however I specifically defined what I believe an evangelical is (in the theological sense) at the end of my first post - but in case my use of the word requires me to clarify that I don't believe that Donald Trump is an evangelical - and that one cannot be a Christian while practising the way of power instead of the way of the cross - then let me do that now.
